Manager of Nutrition Education, Margaret Martin is a Licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist in the State of Tennessee as well as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She has worked with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Nutrition Education Services Center for over 7 years, where she contributes to the Nutrition Handbook, LLS Health Manager Smart App, and website www.LLSNutrition.org. Margaret graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and received her Master's degree in Nutrition Science & Public Health Education from the University of Tennessee. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical nutrition, Margaret has also worked in hospital inpatient and outpatient nutrition services, the insurance industry with WellPoint Inc. and Blue Cross Blue Shield providing telephonic nutrition consultations, service assistance, and web-based nutrition education.

In her free time Margaret loves to travel, just returned from an Alaskan Cruise in 2023, cheers for Alabama football, and volunteers in her community with the Humane Society and her church. She belongs to the Oncology Nutrition & Diabetes Care and Education Dietetic Practice Groups of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Minnesota native Heather Knutson is a Nutrition Educator on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Nutrition Education team. She is board certified in oncology nutrition and has enjoyed working in oncology for over a decade. Heather earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of North Dakota and her Master's degree from Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. She is an advocate for personalized care and feels honored to be invited into the lives of her clients during their personal journey with cancer.

In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, her cat Kevin, and her dog Russell. She is passionate about triathlon, vegan culinary delights, and is always open to new adventures!

Alison Ryan is a Physician Assistant and Registered Dietitian. She has an undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She then completed a Master's degree and dietetic internship at Tufts University. After working as a Registered Dietitian specializing in oncology nutrition for more than 10 years, she went back to school to become a physician's assistant (PA). She completed her PA training at Stanford University. She has worked as a PA in oncology and hematology since 2017. She highly values the patient interaction and appreciates the vulnerability that patients share with her. Alison currently works at Compass Oncology in Portland.

Alison enjoys many outdoor activities, including walking, hiking, and commuting via bicycle. She loves cooking with family and friends as well as a night out exploring the local food scene. She lives with her husband, young son, dog, and cat in Portland.
