Laura Romundstad is a Nurse Practitioner by training and recently joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a Clinical Trial Nurse Navigator. She is based out of Birmingham, Alabama and had the privilege of beginning her career as a Registered Nurse in bone marrow transplant. After completing her Masters of Science in Nursing, she became a Nurse Practitioner and has experience in malignant hematology and radiation oncology. She joined LLS in March of this year as a part of the Clinical Trial Support Center which focuses on assisting patients and caregivers in locating clinical trials and eliminating the barriers to clinical trial enrollment through personalized communication and support.

Kristin Scheeler earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is a certified advanced practice social worker and certified oncology social worker. She has worked in community geriatric, hospice, home care, and outpatient hematology oncology and bone marrow transplant settings before working for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as an Information Specialist. She is a current volunteer for the Association of Oncology Social Workers, recently chairing its annual conference in 2018, where she has also presented several times since 2013. She won the Award of Excellence for the 2013 cohort of the Excellence in Cancer Education and Leadership in Social Work program. She has taken ECHO (Enriching Communication Skills for Health Professionals in Oncofertility) training and is a current member of the Center for International Bone Marrow Transplant Research Consumer Advocacy Committee.
