Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer HOTLINE and Support Program
The Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline Support Program (“Adelphi”) is a non-profit organization with a goal to educate, support, empower and advocate for breast cancer patients, professionals and the community. Adelphi is the only New York statewide toll-free breast cancer hotline, answering more than 3,000 calls per year and staffed with over 75 specially trained professionals and supervised volunteers, most of whom are breast cancer survivors. The staff and volunteers at Adelphi provide a Breast Cancer Forum series, programs on early detection techniques, speakers at no charge to professional and community groups, a quarterly newsletter, support group training videos and customized on-site or off-site services for business, industry and community groups. Cancer Care, Inc.
Cancer Care, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing professional counseling, education, financial assistance, and help with practical problems to people with cancer and their families. The staff at Cancer Care, which includes more than 45 professional oncology social workers, has extensive information about cancer, diagnosis and treatment right at their fingertips, and can teach you what questions to ask, what answers to listen for, and where to turn for more help, including where to find community resources -- such as home care, child care, transportation to and from treatment, pain management, or entitlements you may not know about. Cancer Care's services, including their educational seminars, are free and are available in Cancer Care's 11 offices, through the Cancer Care Counseling Line (1-800-813-HOPE), and via their website.

International Myeloma Foundation
International Myeloma Foundation is a private non-profit organization dedicated to dedicated to improving the quality of life for multiple myeloma patients. The IMF research grant program, led by the world's foremost myeloma experts, is committed to finding better treatment approaches and to preventing and curing myeloma. To promote education regarding myeloma treatment and management, the IMF holds educational seminars for patients and their families, and conducts clinical and scientific conferences for physicians. Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center
Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers were established to be national leaders in cancer treatment, research, and education. To gain a "comprehensive" designation, the highest ranking given by the NCI, a center must meet strict criteria. There are only 26 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States and the Lombardi Cancer Center is the only one in the Washington area.


WAR (Women At Risk) is Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center's high risk breast cancer program which was founded in 1991 by a grass-roots partnership of physicians and patient/volunteers who recognized that high-risk women would stand to benefit most from interventions aimed at early diagnosis.. The program sponsors research, education and support services for women at high risk for the development of breast cancer, as well as those women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or ovarian cancer and are undergoing treatment. Patients who are eligible for participation in WAR include women who have a family history of breast cancer, a history of breast cysts which have required aspiration, or a history of lobular neoplasia or atypical ductal hyperplasia. The Brain Tumor Society Committed to finding a cure for brain tumors through education, research and support, the Brain Tumor Society's mission includes helping to educate the medical community and patients and families about brain tumors, raising public awareness and facilitating early diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, The Brain Tumor Society provides access to psychosocial support resources to help patients and families better deal with the catastrophic problem of a brain tumor. The Brain Tumor Society aggressively raises and grants funds to stimulate and support carefully selected basic scientific research projects.

The Kidney Cancer Association The Kidney Cancer Association is a non-profit membership organization comprised of patients, family members, physicians, researchers, and other health professionals. Founded in 1990 by a small group of patients and doctors, the Kidney Cancer Association provides information to patients and physicians, sponsors research, and acts as an advocate on behalf of the nation's kidney cancer patients

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has provided more than $320 million for research specifically targeting blood-related cancers.

Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the search for a cure for multiple myeloma.
