Dr. Lonial gives an overview of some of the trials discussed at the 42nd Annual ASCO Meeting, including the addition of thalidomide to upfront regimens including thal-dex for newly diagnosed patients and melphalan-prednisone-thalidomide (MPT) for elderly patients not eligible for a transplant. He also provides an update on the phase 3 trial of lenalidomide plus dex for relapsed/refractory patients. Dr. Lonial concludes by taking a look at exciting early studies of novel agents.
