  Database Search

CancerEducation.com’s Database Search Engine, is available at the bottom of each page of the Patient and Family Center and the Professional Center.

The Database Search function permits you to choose the specific database to search, to avoid search results that do not fit within your search objectives.

To start a search you need to type the keyword and select a specific database by clicking on its radio button. Click GO. Occasionally, you'll type in a keyword and the system will tell you that there is no match for it in the database you're searching. Be sure you spelled the keyword correctly; if not, correct it, re-enter it and click GO

Tips for searching two or more keywords

It will help you to understand the use of the words and, or, and not. These are the rules you should follow:
House barn car Would find all records that contain any or all of those words
House and barn Would find only the records that contain all the words.
Barn or car Would find all the records that contain either of the key words
House Not barn Would find all the records that contain House and do not contain Barn

The operators can be combined in an effective way to pinpoint your search
House and car not barn Would find all records that contain House and car but not barn
